Privacy policy
Effective date: November 7, 2026
The Daily Edition prints a newspaper on your device from news feeds. It has no server, no accounts of its own, no advertising and no analytics.
What stays on your device
Today's paper and your list of news feeds
Your settings, including whether the daily Gemini Notebook upload is on
The date of the last upload and the name of the notebook you last used
Your device's backup service may copy this data if you use one.
What's sent to news publishers
To print the paper, the app requests feeds and photos directly from each publisher in your feed list. Those publishers can see your IP address and device details, as with any website you visit, and their own privacy policies apply. If you open a full story, it loads from the publisher's site.
Gemini Notebook and your Google account
This is optional, and nothing is sent to Google unless you use it.
What the app can access: when you agree, Google gives the app permission to see, edit, create and delete your notebooks and notebook sources.
How it's used: the app lists your notebooks so you can pick one. When you clip a story, it adds the story's title and link as a source. If you turn on the daily upload, it adds that day's headlines, short summaries, publisher names and links, and creates a notebook for each month.
What it doesn't do: the app doesn't read the contents of your notebooks, change or delete your existing notebooks or sources, or send your Google data anywhere but Google.
Storage: the app doesn't store your Google password or your data from Google, apart from the last-used notebook name above. Sign-in is handled by Google Play services.
The app's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
To stop this access, turn off the daily upload and remove The Daily Edition at myaccount.google.com/connections. Notebooks already created stay in your account until you delete them.
Deleting your data
Uninstalling the app deletes the data it stores on your device. Delete notebooks at notebook.google.com.
Children
The app isn't directed at children under 13.
